16 Tech is an urban innovation community where creative thinkers and doers in tech, bioscience and advanced engineering connect, collaborate and innovate. The 60-acre innovation placemaking community near IUPUI is billed as a transformational development in Indianapolis' bid to attract talent and is anchored by the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute.  BioCrossroads, along with the other Central Indiana Corporate Partnership technology initiatives, will be among the first wave of organizations moving to 16 Tech by mid-2020 and will occupy space in the first office building.

Robert Coy most recently served as CEO of Ohio-based venture development organization CincyTech, which pumped more than $680 million into 70 different startups during his nearly 12 years at the helm. Prior to joining CincyTech, Coy was SVP for entrepreneurial development and of economic development at the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association. He served as principal economic adviser to the governor in Delaware and executive director of the Ben Franklin Partnership Program in Pennsylvania.  Coy earned is master's degree from the University of Notre Dame.
