Chris Cockerham, CPM
Each month, ICBR honors one of its members in a special Member Spotlight. This month, we recognize Chris Cockerham, CPM. Chris is a broker with F.C. Tucker/Bloomington.
ICBR: Why are you an ICBR member? What do you look to gain out of your membership?
Cockerham: I am an ICBR member because it allows me to network with Commercial Real Estate Brokers throughout the State, have access to Commercial Continuing Education, and volunteer on Commercial Real Estate boards and committees to help improve doing business as a Commercial Real Estate Broker in the state of Indiana. My ICBR membership allows me to network and build relationships that will ultimately grow my Commercial Real Estate Brokerage business.
ICBR: What designations/awards/recognition have you received?
Cockerham: Through IREM I am a CPM. I also have an Indiana and California Real Estate License.
ICBR: How did you start your career in commercial real estate/development?
Cockerham: I studied Real Estate at Indiana University and have been in the Real Estate Business for 21-years.
ICBR: Do you have any mentors? If so, who? How has he/she inspired you?
Cockerham: Bob Doty, retired Vice President of CFC, Inc., has been an incredible mentor for the past 11-years. He has inspired me with his patience, knowledge of Real Estate and his ability to bring people together.
ICBR: What is the most important thing you have learned by working in commercial real estate?
Cockerham: I have learned not to be intimidated by the size of the deal . We are dealing with people/companies that have solid goals and motives and our job is to help them reach their goals. If my clients reach their goals, I know I will reach mine.
ICBR: What is your current professional goal(s)?
Cockerham: Continue to learn and sharpen my skills as a Commercial Real Estate Broker and continue to build my own personal Commercial Real Estate Portfolio.
ICBR: What is your most recent accomplishment?
Cockerham: My most recent accomplishment is lending my Real Estate skills to help area non-profits meet their Real Estate needs.
ICBR: Do you have any special skills, interests or hobbies?
Cockerham: I enjoy snow skiing. I’m a hockey player and Coach, and also play drums and percussion.
