Secondary Membership is limited to those who currently are members of another local Board of REALTORS® through which they pay their State and National dues.
Primary Membership classifies those that pay all of their dues (local, state and national) to ICBR.
A REALTOR® is defined as a member of the National Board of REALTORS® (NAR). If a Managing Broker is a member of a board of REALTORS® (such as ICBR), NAR requires all brokers in that firm to become members of a Board of REALTORS®. In addition, ICBR only requires brokers practicing commercial real estate to join ICBR under that policy. However the non-commercial brokers actively listing, selling, leasing, etc. must still join a board of REALTORS® under the NAR policy. ICBR Bylaws require Primary REALTOR® members to be managing brokers or their managing broker must already belong to a board of REALTORS®. Secondary REALTOR® members must already hold Primary REALTOR® membership in good standing with another board of REALTORS®. Regardless of your type of REALTOR® classification with ICBR, you receive the same benefits.
Licensed Indiana Brokers that are not REALTORS® may join the Commercial Real Estate Alliance (CREA).
CREA membership benefits include two free hours of CE each year, member event pricing to the Indiana Commercial Real Estate Conference and education events, industry award eligibility, free quarterly networking events and more. Also, by joining CREA you become eligible to subscribe to the Indiana Commercial Real Estate Exchange (ICREX).
The alliance is intended to provide licensed real estate professionals unable to become a REALTOR®, a community in which they can network, learn and grow professionally with other industry professionals from around the state.
If you have questions about the Commercial Real Estate Alliance contact the ICBR office at (317) 328-5259.
